So I’ve been really into my essential oils recently and I wanted to share with you how I’ve incorporated them into my daily life!
A couple of weeks ago I bought a therapeutic grade oil diffuser that came with 11 of the finest essential oils! I thought I would be mostly using the oils with the diffuser but to my pleasant surprise I’ve not only been diffusing everyday but I’ve been using the oils in multiple ways all over my body and the house!
But Paige, what are exactly are essential oils and what’s so good about them? You might be wondering. Well, the formal answer is that essential oils are naturally occurring oils that are collected through steam or cold pressed distillation. They have the characteristic fragrance of the plant material from which it is derived. (Thanks Wiki) Apart from their incredibly pleasant smell, aromatherapy oils can provide respiratory disinfection, decongestant, and psychological benefits. Inhaling essential oils stimulates the olfactory system, the part of the brain connected to smell, including the nose and the brain.
So today, I’ll start with the oil diffuser – I looove aromatherapy and all things natural and really wanted to bring this spa-like experience into my home. So I bought a therapeutic grade oil diffuser – one with an ultrasonic plate that breaks up these high quality oils into microparticles, so they’re small enough to get into my system, reach the brain and have a therapeutic effect. This diffuser came with a pack of 11 therapeutic grade essential oils – which I’ve been having so much fun with – and I have not stopped diffusing day and night since I got it!
In the morning I usually go with a blend of 2-3 uplifting and energising oils such as lemon, peppermint, frankincense or any of the blends like Purification, R.C, or Digize (which has tarragon, ginger, peppermint, juniper, fennel, lemongrass, anise and patchouli in it alone!)
At night, I like to diffuse oils that will help create and relaxing and calming environment so I’m ready for a good night’s sleep. Now it depends on the vibe and what I’m feeling, so I like to mix it up with oils like lavender (of course), and blends like Theives (clove, cinnamon, rosemary and lemon) which is a bit sweeter and spicier and Stress Away (copaiba, lime, cedarwood, vanilla, ocotea, lavender) which I also love to roll on my wrists and neck right before I sleep. Smells so good!!
Last week when pollution was bad and my allergies were up, to help decongest I diffused blends of eucalyptus, tea tree, peppermint and lemon alllll day and night which made an incredible difference! I really didn’t think it would help that much, but it did.
Now this is just the beginning of my diffusing days but I’m already addicted to the sense of peace and calm it brings to the household, not to mention the revitalising energy in the mornings and the decongestion assistance! I think I will also bring it into the yoga practice and start some aroma yoga classes as well! Essential oils and yoga is a match made in heaven, I actually couldn’t think of anything better.
Ok, so you know I’m excited about my new diffuser and all my oils, but I haven’t even told you how I’ve been using them topically and about my home-made cleaning products! So make sure you look out next week to hear how essential oils have helped me with my skin, muscle soreness and how I’ve been cleaning my house with them!
And if you’re looking for a good diffuser and high quality oils yourself, shout out to me and I can set you up with a discount 😉 woohoo!
